Daniel Beth asks "How do I bring the roof insulation to code? The rafters are not large enough to support the thickness of R-38, which is required in Jackson County, NC."

The building code is the same in all counties of NC. The insulators are using high density insulation that will fit in a 2x8. Sprayed in foam can also be used that will exceed even the R38 required. The code is the same here in Ga.
